Our Story
Sable New York was founded by Erin Frumet and Lissa Regnier. Our hometowns were less than an hour apart, but we met in Brooklyn in 2012. We quickly became friends, bonding over our childhoods in the Midwest and fashion.
In 2023, we decided to combine our varied but complementary experiences to start a fashion business. We wanted to start small with something we could do well. Combined with our desires to work with natural materials and local craftsmen, we arrived at the beloved bandana.
Sable is inspired by fashion history and storytelling. We reference vintage bandanas and infuse them with surrealist elements to tell the story of a contemporary Americana. We are proud to offer you unique, high quality accessories that we hope will become future heirlooms.

Erin and Lissa
Our Values
At Sable, our commitments to sustainability and community guide everything we do. We seek to cultivate a culture of thoughtful wardrobe curation and to reduce the environmental and social impacts of fashion.
Every aspect of our production process is carefully considered to minimize our environmental impact. Our products and packaging always prioritize natural materials. Each collection is expertly crafted in limited quantities, reducing waste and ensuring high quality standards. The result is superior accessories that are made to last. Your guilty pleasure without the guilt!
Sable’s mission is to reinvigorate interest in high quality American textile manufacturing, beginning with the humble bandana.
Our cotton line is 100% Made in USA, from farm to final product. We spent a year developing our custom, 100% U.S. cotton bandana fabric with a mill in South Carolina. The cotton was farmed according to the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol, which regulates environmental and labor standards. Bandanas are then expertly cut and sewn in New York City’s Garment District and screen printed in California.
Some silk scarves are made in NYC from imported fabric. All silk squares are made in vertical factories in India and Korea, who has a local office in the Garment District.
We are passionate about our partnerships with local mills and manufacturers. Working close to home not only supports the local economy and talent, it reduces our carbon footprint.
As a women-owned business, we understand the importance of supporting and uplifting our community. We prioritize partnerships with local artisans and suppliers, fostering meaningful relationships built on trust and mutual respect. Together, we're building a fashion ecosystem that prioritizes people and planet over profit.
Our products are for people of every gender, race, religion, size, orientation, and capability. We encourage everyone to embrace their personal style, forget about trends, and invest in pieces that make them feel their best.
There’s a Sable scarf for each of you. <3
