Our Story

In 2023, Erin Frumet and Lissa Regnier founded Sable in Brooklyn, New York. The brand was born out of our shared love of fashion history and storytelling, and our combined professional experience in fashion and business. We are passionate about creating a brand that is bold, playful, and socially responsible.

In the spirit of DIY, we challenged ourselves to work within the confines of what’s available locally. As our starting point, we worked with a mill in South Carolina to develop a custom, 100% US cotton bandana fabric. Our cotton was farmed according to the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol, which regulates environmental and labor standards. Our bandanas are then expertly cut and sewn at a factory in New York City’s Garment District.

Collaborating with different artists every season, we design each collection around a central theme. Our prints reference vintage bandana designs, which we then update and infuse with surrealist elements to create a contemporary Americana. We are proud to offer timeless, artisanal accessories that we hope will become future heirlooms.

Our Values

At Sable, our commitments to sustainability and community guide everything we do. We seek to cultivate a culture of thoughtful wardrobe curation and to reduce the environmental and social impacts of fashion.

Sustainability at Heart

Every aspect of our production process is carefully considered to minimize our environmental impact. Our products and packaging always prioritize natural materials. We release collections in limited quantities, which reduces waste and ensures the highest quality standards for each garment. The result is superior products that are made to last. Your guilty pleasure without the guilt!

Community Connection

As a woman-owned business, we understand the importance of supporting and uplifting our community. We prioritize partnerships with local artisans and suppliers, fostering meaningful relationships built on trust and mutual respect. Together, we're building a fashion ecosystem that prioritizes people and planet over profit, and each piece holds the history of the people who helped make it along the way.

Made in USA

While not all of our production is currently 100% in the US, we maintain a firm commitment to manufacturing as locally as possible. At its core, our mission is to reignite the United States textile manufacturing industry, starting with the humble bandana. Working locally not only supports the local economy and talent, it reduces our carbon footprint.

Diversity & Inclusion

Our products are for people of every gender, race, religion, size, orientation, and capability. We encourage everyone to embrace their personal style, forget about trends, and invest in pieces that make them feel their best. There’s a Sable scarf for each of you. <3
